Undeserved

Has anyone said to you: "You deserve it." Maybe it is a pair of shoes or a new car that you are contemplating. "Go ahead and get it; you deserve it." This really bothers me. The idea that I "deserve" something as justification for spending, getting, having is no justification at all. It is perhaps an excuse.

I don't deserve God's love and favor. I don't deserve salvation. It is a gift from God. Perhaps that carries over into the everyday - I don't deserve the nice house or the new car. I have both (although when I am still driving the same car in 10 years it will be the old clunker!) How can I use them to the glory of God? How can I share them with those in need? How can those undeserved parts of my life serve others? I don't have all the answers to these questions. The questions and answers can become part of my daily walk and service to the Lord.

You are absolutely right, however let me add, we are deserving people. It realy isn't true that we are totally undeserving. For our sin, emnity, and treason against God we were deserving people, we deserved hell, judgement and condemnation.

We were undeserving of grace and mercy. In Christ, I always say, I am better than I deserve.

What an indescribable gift, grace is!

Hi,
I love to use my car to help people, and I love to cook food for my neighbors, because I feel that God has provided them for me for that purpose. I just love people, and I actually get a lot out of helping so it is kind of a selfish thing I do. You are correct in saying we don't deserve the many good things that happen to us. God is so good and we are so undeserving of His goodness. God bless you , my dear.

All blessings come from God. They are His gift to us and we must always remember to give him credit for all that we have and to thank him for it.

Thank God for his gift of salvation and mercy towards us! I feel the same way sometimes when people say that to me as well...
