Invitation(s)

I love invitations!  It doesn't matter if they come through the mail, through email, or by telephone or text.  An invitation means that someone has taken the time to put together a party, food, drink, and other friends! And invitations come in all degrees of fanciness (I think I just made up a word).  We just received one for a friends Bat Mitzvah.  It was elaborate and beautiful and colorful and fancy.  I also got a text message from my neighbor inviting me to Starbucks for a coffee.  I love both invitations!

We are in the midst of planning my daughter's wedding.  Invitations are very important - do we go with classic white or ivory or do we go bold with a bright color and graphics?  Any opinions out there?

There is an invitation that has been around for centuries - a simple, one sentence invitation:

Matthew 11:28-30
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

You have gotten this invitation - have you responded yet?

Invitations are promises of good times to come, whether by text or by cards full of fanciness (nice word btw). My personal choice for a wedding invitation would be towards a more traditional style, but if the wedding itself was going to be less so then the invitation card could reflect that.

Nothing worse than extending an invitation and having it ignored. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month. You can see mine at myqualityday.blogspot.com
